As your Life Coach I make the following commitments to you In becoming my client, you are making the following commitments to yourself How to Get the Most From Your Coach Sharon Crawford - before training to be a personal & executive coach, I had various roles in marketing management, in several IT start up companies. After having been made redundant twice in one year when both companies dissolved, I decided I didn't want to be held to ransom by another company ever again & there had to be more to life than long commutes, even longer days, stress & building someone else's dream, not my own. A good friend introduced me to life coaching in July 2003, Motivus International was established and I have never looked back. I trained at the European Coaching Foundation in the UK (now Rivas Palmer) & since continued my studies with Coach Inc. I work with individuals on a 1:1 basis, by phone or email. I also work with companies (individual executives or teams), as well as running workshops, seminars & teleconferences. In addition, I am passionate about working with young people, their parents & teachers. I have spent all of my adult life working on my own personal & spiritual development. More recent influences on my thinking & the way I coach include: Jerry & Esther Hicks with Abraham; Deepak Chopra's 7 Spiritual Laws of Success; The Sedona Method; Journey Therapy; Radical Forgiveness; The Power of Now; Anthony Robbins; Jim Rohn; Brandon Bays - The Work; Doreen Virtue. (More details in the Good Books section, under Resources). I also run a separate business as an Angel Therapy Practitioner®, certified by Doreen Virtue PhD. As your Life Coach I make the following commitments to you: I will empower you to create a space for yourself, to explore what's going on in your life, on every dimension - mind, body, emotion & spirit. To get back in touch with your inner self - who you really are & what you're here to do. I will help you to look inside yourself, to shine a light on those beliefs & judgements about yourself which hold you back, to enable you to find your own truth, passion & purpose in life. I will help you to take ownership of your life on every level so that life works for you, not the other way around. You will discover for yourself a realm of choice about who you are, how you are with others, how you react to every situation & the attitude you have to your life. I will always approach my sessions with you with curiosity for endless possibilities. I will believe in you utterly & completely. I will know you can succeed in your aims. I will stretch you, challenge you, sometimes confront you, but always support you. I will be warm to you, laugh with you & will travel with you as an equal partner in your own success journey. I will be open, honest & non-judgmental. I will help you to achieve all you can be as long as you stay true to your own best interests. My clients are all ready to create what they want in their life & I will challenge you further than you would challenge yourself, & aim to get their quicker than you would on your own. Sometimes, with your permission, I will offer you an alternative view of what you are saying. I might hear something funny in your voice or I might hear a fear that you have not noticed. I will always tell you when this happens. I will tell you gently & will not insist you address it – Coaching is always about what YOU want. It is my job to help you to see what you want to see, not to make you face things you are not ready to look at! Often I will ask you to consider going further than you initially think that you are prepared to go. You are ALWAYS in charge of what action steps you take on between sessions. If I challenge you (and I almost certainly will) to do something extra at some point, you always have the following options to say “No”, to say “Yes” or to negotiate the request up or down. It is up to you to take action (or not) based on a summing up of the discussion. I accept no liabilities for the consequences of action or inaction on your part. Everything that passes between us will stay confidential & I will adhere to the Rivas Palmer Code of Conduct (below). I will never use information given by you during a coaching session for my own benefit. I am not qualified to give specific legal or financial advice. Please be aware that this is a coaching relationship, designed to support you in finding your own options & that any suggestions given are based on helping you to make your own decisions & should not be taken as authoritative or as advice. Whether the subject matter is financial, health, business or otherwise, please always seek advice from relevant qualified professionals before taking action. I will be ready on time for all calls that we schedule & will be relaxed & ready to go without my own problems on my mind.
In becoming my client, you are making the following commitments to yourself: To want to look inside yourself deeper than ever before, to find your inner self & explore new possibilities. To be open to new challenges & be prepared to stretch yourself to achieve them. To be committed to invest in yourself financially, physically, emotionally & in making time for yourself. To allow yourself to be important & worth it! To be open & honest with yourself & me, & trust that I will never judge you on anything you say. To make time & space necessary to make the most of your Coaching – this includes being prompt for scheduled calls – if you are feeling stressed or disorganised for the call you will get less from it. Your Coach will help you set targets for each session & may even set you additional challenges (which you can always say no to, remember!). You will get the most out of Coaching if you make the time to follow through on what you decided to do between sessions. To be true to yourself & your own values. (I will help you identify those) To be prepared to share a laugh or two along the way & to let me know if laughing is the last thing you feel like doing in your session. To let me know straight away if anything about our Coaching relationship bothers you or is not working as well as it could; If I could be more effective in some way, if you have a problem with the Coaching or if anything seems important to be said! To look after yourself well between Coaching sessions. The bigger the challenge you are undertaking, the greater the degree of self-care that is needed to support your wellness and energy. I do not wish to work with people who are prepared to work themselves into the ground at the expense of their health and wellbeing.
How to Get the Most From Your Coach: This next tip is utterly up to you whether you do it but we know that these help people focus & get the most out of the sessions. Before each call fill in and fax or email the Pre-Call Coaching Prep Form to me & within 24 hours after the call send me a Post-Call Form. Some clients prefer not to do this & I respect that completely. If you choose not to use these forms, please consider allowing fifteen minutes after the call each time in which to write down anything that occurred to you during the call & to plan the time to follow through on commitments made to yourself. Keeping notes during the sessions will keep it fresh in your mind & give you a way of remembering the shifts & beliefs that you make & recognise during the sessions. Either have a Coaching journal that you keep notes in or file each session’s notes in the welcome pack. There will be things that you want to come back to at some point. It will also help you to see how far you have moved forward in your life & how much you have achieved.
Rivas Palmer As a training organisation, Rivas Palmer aims to uphold the highest standards of training, & expects all trainers, mentor coaches, course facilitators and students to uphold the highest professional standards of coaching. I, Sharon Crawford also work in accordance with the following Code of Conduct:
