I'm pretty successful, am content with my life & am doing
ok. Why would I want my own coach?
Congratulations - it sounds like you've got your life pretty
much under control. However, could you entertain the possibility that it
could be even better? Are you living a purposeful, fulfilling life?
Does everything come to you easily or does it sometimes feel that life can be a
struggle? Are you an important priority in your life or does it just seem
to happen & time for you goes by the wayside? Would you consider that your
life could be better than this? If yes, when? What are you going to
do about it?
The definition of madness is
always doing the same thing but expecting different results. Back to top

Why do I need a coach when I can talk to family or
friends?
Your personal coach is only focused on YOUR agenda, not their
own. They have no emotional involvement with you, nor do any decisions you
make, or actions you take, have any influence on their life or feelings.
They are truly committed to empowering you to make the best decisions for
yourself & keeping all conversations confidential. Your session with your
coach may also include discussions of how your actions may affect other people
in your life, and how you will deal with those consequences. They are
totally objective, non-judgemental & only have your best interests at heart.
Your coach is also trained in how to really truly listen to you, to give you
space and safety to explore any issue whatsoever & ask you key questions to
really get to the core of your issue.
Though your friends & family might be 100% supportive of you
& encourage you in your growth, anything you do or however you might change, may
have a perceived effect on their own life. Inevitably this may affect how
they respond to you or the advice they may give. Unfortunately some of the
people most close to us don't want us to change for the better, for fear we
leave them behind, or because they fear the unknown. Maybe they are
jealous because they'd love to do something with their own life but are too
afraid. You can choose whether to stay as you are rather than face those
potential consequences, or you can choose to take control of your life & I
can help you to deal
with those issues if and when they occur. Only you can decide! Back

Will my coach give me all of the answers & tell me what to
do?
NO! Absolutely not. So why have a coach then you
might ask? Your coach is trained & experienced in enabling you to find the
answers for yourself. Deep down, you know what is right for you & what is
not, just sometimes fears, self-limiting beliefs & circumstances shroud your
judgement & intuition. It often takes an independent person, who doesn't
know all of the facts or your stories, to help you to get back in touch with
your inner self & your own truth.
Again, you might say well if I know the answers already, why
do I still need a coach? Have you ever found that you can see what's going
on with other people but never seem very good at sorting your own life out or
taking your own advice? Your coach acts as your objective, non-judgemental
sounding board. However, there's more to it than that. Sometimes
saying things out loud to someone else will result in a real 'light bulb' moment
for you as you realised what you said. Other times, your coach might
reflect back to you something you've just stated and you might say "Really, did
I say that?", "That's not what I mean" or "I didn't realise I already knew the
answer". Also, sometimes it takes an independent person to you, who is not
emotionally involved with you, who is committed to doing what it takes to move
you forward & keep you accountable to yourself, to ask you those deep questions
no-one else would ever think of asking you, let alone you asking them of
yourself.
Coaching will help you to
rediscover your curiosity about yourself & you'll soon learn to start asking
yourself more probing questions, to accelerate your own growth.

How do I know I if having my own coach is for me?
If you can answer yes to any of the questions below, you are
ready to have your own personal coach:
 |
Do you sometimes wonder if there has to be more life than
this?
|
 |
Do you sometimes feel that everything is a struggle & would
like things to be a bit easier sometimes?
|
 |

alone with your issues & don't seem to have anyone you can really talk to about

purposeful life or are you living & building someone else's dream?

|
If you're still unsure but are
curious, contact us to arrange a free coaching consultation, to see if coaching
is truly for you or not. Back to top

What happens in the free coaching consultation?
The introductory coaching consultation will take place
over the phone. It will take between 40-60 minutes
approximately. The purpose of this consultation is not to 'sell' coaching
to you. It is for:
 |
You to ask any questions you may have or voice any concerns;
|
 |
You to uncover any potential issues or challenges you might
want to work on with your coach;
|
 |
You to decide if you would like to work with me as your
coach;
|
 |
You to decide what type of service might best meet your
needs;
|
 |
Me to ascertain whether I think you are ready for coaching -
you need to be ready & willing to make changes in your life & accept
responsibility for your choices if you are to get the most out of being coached;
|
 |
Me to see whether you & I have a good rapport;
|
 |
Me to explain more about the coaching relationship & what you
might expect from me, and me from you, should you decide to work with me as your
coach;
|
 |
Us to agree what the coaching relationship will look & feel
like together;
|
 |
You to make a decision about your next steps & if relevant
agree service package, fees, timing etc.
|
This session is totally without
obligation from either party. The best way to know if coaching is for you
is to be coached.

How much does having my own coach cost?
Individual 1 hour sessions - £40 (€52/$80)
Series of 4 x 1 hour sessions - £144 (€188/$288)
Series of 12 x 1 hour sessions - £444 (€580/$1,160)
Although you are very welcome to book a single session at a
time, usually people tend to find that they benefit from between 4-12 sessions,
to really clear away blocks to success. It shows a real investment in yourself
in terms of time, money & energy, as well as a true commitment to your own
happiness. If you choose the series of 4 sessions, then feel you would like
to continue, you can simply choose another of the 3 options to continue with.
Payment is required in advance & can be made by cheque or via secure online
server through PayPal with your credit/debit card. Back to top

How long will I need my coach for?
There really is no way of knowing whether you might want to
work with your coach for 1 session, for 3 months, for a year etc. You
might find you're not getting anything out of the coaching relationship, you
might come to coaching with one issue and actually uncover something much more
significant to you which you want to work on, or you might get so much out of
the coaching that you want to improve other aspects of your life too.
However, from my experience, I have found it can take a
little time to establish values, your real goals, dreams & objectives, to
uncover your blocks & to challenge & replace some of your beliefs & start making
real changes in your life. With this in mind & if you're really serious
about living your life by design as opposed to by accident, then I would ask for
a commitment of a minimum of 8 sessions over 3 months, paid for monthly in advance.
Obviously the coaching relationship would be reviewed as we go along & if you
weren't happy at any time, the agreement could be terminated at the end of any
month. Back to top

What will I get from working with Sharon that I may not
get from another coach?
 |
I am not afraid to challenge you if I feel you need it to
move you forward;
|
 |
I will always be 100% honest but non-judgemental with you;
|
 |
I will work with you on a holistic level, to help you with
mind, body, emotion & spirit, as I do not feel that a truly fulfilling life can
be experienced without all of these facets;
|
 |
I have dedicated much time & energy over the years to my own
personal & spiritual development, through books, courses, seminars, my own &
others experiences. I bring this wealth of knowledge into everything I do,
especially my coaching & events, in order to help you on your own journey - I am
like your own spiritual roadside assistance;
|
 |
I am absolutely passionate about empowering people to live
their life by design & to find their 'raison d'etre', their life purpose.
If I can help even one person to live a more fulfilling life, then I have
contributed something in this lifetime. However, I believe my own purpose
is to help hundreds, maybe thousands of people, just like you, to find your own
purpose & live a full, meaningful life;
|
 |
I believe everyone is born with the capacity to be
outstanding & it is my desire to help you to believe, then achieve that for
yourself - if you're ready to stop being average, I can help;
|
 |
I am totally committed to helping you to heal pain & hurt
from your past, to create a wonderful present & therefore to ensure an amazing
future for yourself;
|
 |
I will work with you to identify areas of your life where
your ego* takes over & sabotages your success, then find ways of telling your
ego* to 'STF up' & to reconnect with your inner self;
|
 |
I will help you to find ways of manifesting what you want
into your life easily, with least effort, rather than everything being a
struggle;
|
 |
I have a vast network of associates who I work with in
co-operation, so even if for some reason I can't help you, I will know someone
who will;
|
 |
Finally, you may find initially that I believe in you even
more than you believe in yourself. I have seen & experienced myself &
others achieving far more than they ever believed possible. They are
ordinary people, just like you & me, so if they can do it, why not you?
Could you entertain the possibility of living a life by design, to achieve your
full potential? Would you entertain the possibility? If so, when?
How about now!!
*When we refer to the ego, we
talk about the spiritual definition when we come from a place of fear, not the
ego as defined by Freud. Back to top

Is coaching the same as counselling?
No! Although coaching has its roots in Cognitive
Behavioural therapy, a form of counselling, it is actually quite different.
Many, though not all, therapies focus on going very deeply into situations,
issues & hurts & getting involved in your 'story'. More often than not
there is a heavy focus on your past & trying to 'explain' why they happened &
the effect it is having on you now. There may be certain aspects of your
life which would be more beneficial for you to work on through therapy as
opposed to coaching. (This can be ascertained in the initial coaching
consultation).
Through the process of being coached, you will still draw
on aspects of the past as it is part of who you are now. However, it
doesn't involve you immersing yourself into your 'story', but simply to help
you understand where, when & how certain beliefs about yourself & your world
have been formed. Once you can 'name' your fears, self-limiting beliefs,
issues of self-esteem, blocks, hidden away dreams etc, you can then start to
challenge them & replace them with beliefs & behaviours which serve you better
in your current life now and therefore your future. Your past has gone &
you can't change it & it's very disempowering to try to change it, but you can
also continue to relive it in your mind & keep it
alive, which then keeps it going into your future too.
Coaching can help you to break this pattern, accept what
you can't change, see what lessons you can learn from your experiences,
explore what you can do differently & release what you can't. Once you
are free from reliving your 'story' in your mind time after time, you can
focus on what you can do NOW to make a real difference to your life &
therefore your future.
Some coaching is also mainly about goal setting, but that
is focusing you on the future. Again, the future is yet to happen &
cannot be controlled - it is as yet an illusion.
The only thing you can control is NOW - what you feel,
believe & do NOW, which will influence your future! Do nothing now &
guess what? Nothing will change in the future - you will keep repeating
the same mistakes & patterns of the past. Recognise & learn from those
mistakes & patterns from the past, change your actions & beliefs NOW & you'll
get a different future. You can do this by accident, or you can work
with me as your coach and create a life by design!
I will work with you to focus on what you can
do about your life, to create the life you do want for yourself now, not focus
on what you can't! Cos where's the fun in that?? Back to top

I am not local or I live outside of the UK but want to
work with Sharon as my coach. Is that possible?
I offer 1:1 coaching by telephone* or group coaching via
teleconferencing*, therefore it doesn't matter where you are in the world, or
whether you're always on the road, I will fit into your schedule. I love
the diversity of working with different cultures & embrace it as part of my
own learning & growth. I have as much to learn from you as you do from
me, so I welcome everyone with open arms!
*There are numerous suppliers
of cheap international calls these days, so there's no reason why your call
would cost any more than if you were calling in your own country. You
will find some suppliers in the Links section. Back to top

What should I bear in mind when hiring my own coach?
I have my own coach too, as I never stop learning myself &
it makes me a better coach for you. These are the criteria I use when
selecting a coach to work with, so they may help you: |
 |
As yet, coaches are not currently required to have any
accreditation, as there is not one particular body who regulates this
profession. However, it is believed this will happen at some point in
the future. There are many organisations who offer coach training, of
varying standards. Some will offer their own internal accreditation
scheme, others will be affiliated to various independent bodies, who require a
certain, consistent standard of training to earn your coach accreditation.
Internationally, the International Coach Federation are recognised as having
the highest standards, followed by the European Coaching Institute - both are
totally independent of any coach training institution, but strive to raise the
standard of our profession. |
In the UK, the Open College Network is the highest
recognised external body for coaching certification.
My personal advice would be to look for a coach who has
been trained & accredited by an organisation running coach training courses
approved by the OCN, the ICF or the ECI, in order to ensure consistent,
quality, professional training. Each of these organisations have their
own code of conduct which students & coaches adhere to.
 |
You may want to contact 2-3 coaches & see who seems to fit
in with your own personal values & with whom you feel you have a connection.
If you have a specific goal in mind, you might prefer to work with someone who
specialises in that field & who you know has achieved what you want to
achieve. |
 |
I only work with coaches who I feel I have a real rapport
with, who I feel safe with & that they treat me with respect &
confidentiality, but someone who I know is going to stretch & challenge me as
never before. |
At the end of the day though, the choice has to be down to
you & who you most think you can work with & connect with. There
may be fantastic coaches out there who have not got certification, so don't write them
off if they feel right to you.

Will I get anything different from working with my own
coach 1:1 over attending a workshop or teleclass run by Motivus International?
Yes! Obviously having your own personal coach will
enable you to work through your own issues & experiences & help you to focus
purely on what you want to change. You will be held much more accountable
to what action you commit to taking. It is totally confidential & I am
there only for you during our session.
You will still get a huge amount from listening in to a
teleclass or by attending an event, & they will most likely cover different
material. But for much deeper learning, having your own coach will make
all the difference. Back to top

I already have a coach, why would I want to work with
someone different?
Well done for taking the step of working with a coach!
You may be doing great work with them, have a fantastic rapport & really be
moving forward in your life. However, the benefit of working with
different coaches throughout your journey is that we are all different too.
Each of us has our own style, our own experiences & our own passions.
Therefore, you will learn different things & grow in different ways with each
coach you work with.
As part of my training & ongoing
since then, I have had the wonderful experience of being coached by many people,
of varying levels of experience themselves. Each & every one has given me
something new & added their own value to my life, which I might not have had if
I only worked with one person. However, as always, do what feels right for
you at this point in time - only you knows what that is. Back to top
